Common diseases endangering cardiovascular health

    The heart is one of the important organs in the human body, primarily responsible for providing power for blood flow and circulating blood to various parts of the body. So, do you know which diseases affect heart health?

   In fact, common diseases that threaten cardiovascular health mainly include the following:

1.Coronary Heart Disease:

   This is the most common type of cardiovascular disease, caused by insufficient blood supply from the coronary arteries leading to myocardial ischemia, hypoxia, or necrosis. Clinical manifestations include angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, heart failure, arrhythmias, and sudden death.

2.Hypertension(HTN):

   HTN is an important risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Long-term HTN can lead to changes in heart structure and function, such as left ventricular hypertrophy and heart failure. At the same time, HTN is also a major cause of coronary heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, etc.

3.Arrhythmia:

   Arrhythmia refers to abnormal frequency or rhythm of heartbeats, which may cause palpitations, chest tightness, dizziness, fainting, and other symptoms. In severe cases, it may even be life-threatening.

4.Heart Failure:

   Heart failure is the terminal stage of various heart diseases, characterized by a decline in cardiac pumping function and inability to meet the needs of body metabolism. Patients may experience dyspnea, fatigue, edema, and other symptoms.

5.Cardiomyopathy:

   Cardiomyopathy is a group of myocardial lesions caused by different etiologies (hereditary etiology being the most common). It usually manifests as ventricular hypertrophy or dilation, affecting the contraction or relaxation function of the heart, ultimately leading to heart failure or death.

6.Congenital Cardiovascular Disease:

   These diseases are congenital disorders caused by abnormal cardiovascular development during fetal period, including atrial septal defect, ventricular septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, etc. These diseases can lead to abnormalities in heart structure and function, and may be life-threatening in severe cases.

7.Rheumatic Heart Disease:

   Rheumatic heart disease is valve lesions caused by rheumatic fever, manifested as valve stenosis or insufficiency, which may cause arrhythmias, heart failure, and other symptoms.

8.Infective Endocarditis:

   This is an inflammation caused by direct infection of heart valves or endocardium of ventricular walls by bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms. It may cause valve destruction, short-term appearance of heart murmurs, or changes in the nature of existing murmurs.

   To maintain cardiovascular health, people should actively prevent and treat these diseases and adopt a healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet, moderate exercise, quitting smoking and limiting alcohol consumption, and maintaining good sleep habits. Regular cardiovascular health checks are also very important.
